Acid black MBH is a water soluble dye with the appearance of dark brown powder. It dissolves in water. The water solution shows black color.
Mainly used in the dyeing of wool, silk and nylon/polyamide. And can also be used in the dyeing of leather.
pH 4.0-5.0 recommended for the dyeing of wool; pH 4.0-5.0 recommended for the dyeing of nylon/polyamide.

Q: Are acid dyes water-soluble?
A: Acid dyes are water soluble. Some of them are soluble readily and some of them are soluble slowly. In hot water, most of the acid dyes dissolve very quickly.
Q: Do acidic dyes work best at low pH?
A: Not all acid dyes work best at low pH. Normally for strong acid dyes, the dyeing should be carried out in low pH (like 2.5-4); for weak acid dyes, in the dye bath with pH 4-5; for neutral acid dyes, in the dye bath with pH 6-7.

A: Normally acid blue dyes have the blue powder appearance and some have brilliant blue, dark blue, brownish blue or purple blue powder appearance. Q: Can you use acid dye on cotton?
A: Normally acid dyes are not suitable on cotton. Vat dyes, direct dyes and reactive dyes are suitable on cotton.
Q: How much vinegar for acid dye?
A: It depends on the dyeing technics and which kind of dyes. 0.5-2% acetic acid is suggested. The main purpose of acetic acid for acid dyes is to adjust pH value.
Q: Can acid dye hair?
A: Yes, some dyes can be used for hair dyeing.
Q: What are anionic dyes?
A: Anionic dyes can be ionized into color anions in aqueous solution. Acid dyes and direct dyes are anionic dyes. Anionic dyes are widely used in textile dyeing, like in protein fibers (silk and wool) and cellulose fibers ( cotton and linen).
